In 1970 Ray and June Gaddis established Pacific Cheese Company, the West Coast’s first broadline cheese supplier. As industry pioneers, they were instrumental in the expansion of the California cheese industry and laid the groundwork for the company’s growth into one of the country’s leading suppliers of premier-quality, natural cheeses.
Today, a second generation of the Gaddis family oversees the company’s success and industry leadership.

Steve Gaddis, President & CEO
Steve joined his family’s business in 1974, and has since led Pacific Cheese’s growth into one of the largest broadline cheese suppliers in the country. He passionately drove the company’s expansion by sourcing, importing and exporting cheese products from around the world.
Tony Ricker, President, Retail Sales Division
Tony has deep experience in the CPG industry, including operations, quality, sales & marketing, customer service and general management. He began his career at Kraft where he spent nearly 20 years focused in the cheese and dairy sectors. Tony has also held executive positions in the baking industry at Campbell Taggert, Earthgrains and Sara Lee, and led the General Mills sales and merchandising team for CROSSMARK prior to joining Pacific Cheese in 2010.
Bob Leonard, Executive Vice President, International Division
Bob’s 30-plus year career in the foodservice industry began as a street rep for a national foodservice distributor. He then moved from distribution to manufacturing, working in sales for cheese manufacturers for nearly 2 decades. With strong dedication to servicing customers’ needs, Bob has been instrumental in establishing, growing and maintaining Pacific Cheese’s leadership in foodservice sales over the past 14 years.
Dale Tate, Chief Financial Officer
Dale joined Pacific Cheese as Chief Financial Officer in September, 2009.
In addition to Finance, Dale’s responsibilities include Human Resources, IT, Customer Service, Procurement and Supply Chain and Logistics. Dale joined Pacific Cheese after 20 years in the electronics industry, primarily with global electronics manufacturers such as Solectron and Flextronics. Dale lives in Saratoga with his wife Cynthia and their two children.
Peter V. Ernster, Jr., Senior Vice President, Foodservice Sales Division
Hailing from a 5-generation dairy family, Peter brings a wealth of cheesemaking expertise to Pacific Cheese. Prior to arriving here, Peter spent 11 years formulating and blending award-winning process cheeses as both Vice President and President of Chateaux Cheese Company. In 2011, Pacific Cheese acquired Chateaux, and Peter officially joined our team.
Lee Davis, Senior Vice President, Operations and Quality Assurance
Lee has spent his entire career in the cheese industry, both domestic and international. He held senior leadership positions with Kraft Foods in production operations, research and development, and cheese and dairy procurement. He has served on the board of directors of the National Cheese Institute and currently on the Cheese Importers Association. Since joining Pacific Cheese in 2011, he has been involved in business development and supply chain improvement. His passion is optimization of the supply chain from cow to consumer.
